Brief background:Under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, every Food Business Operator has to take License/Certificate to commence business. Food Licensing & Registration System (FLRS) has been developed under the guidelines laid down under Food Safety and Standards (Licensing & Registration of Food Businesses) Regulation, 2011. FLRS is a web based system to facilitate Food Business Operators across the country to apply for License/Registration Certificate online and track their application status through the various stages of processing. FLRS is being used by FSSAI Regional and Sub-Regional Offices and 30 State Governments to process applications online.
