Brief background: Online Application System for Medical Colleges is a system developed for Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to facilitate on line submission of applications for opening of new Medical Colleges and for increasing capacity & introduction of new courses in existing Medical colleges both at under graduate, post graduate and super speciality level. The unique feature of this portal is that, it allows the applicants such as State Govt., Union Territories, Universities, autonomous bodies, Societies, Trusts, etc.. to register themselves and fill up relevant application without MoHFW intervention. Applicants are allowed to upload all supporting documents and payment details on-line. Registered users, once they login to the system, can also track the status of their application.

The final decision on the application by Medical Council of India (MCI) and MoHFW are recorded in the system for future reference.

The system is expected to streamline the process of receiving and tracking status of all applications, bring in transparency in the approval process and provide a single window interface to all applicants.
